Symbian Anna Rollout Reactive Statement
After the launch of the Nokia X7 and Nokia E6, with the accompanying Symbian Anna software update, many people have received questions either directly from consumers or from media about when Symbian Anna will be made available for existing users of the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C6 and Nokia C7. Often users are frustrated that Symbian Anna is not available to download immediately.
The following statement can be used in reaction to those questions.
‘Symbian Anna will become available for download by users of the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C6-01 and Nokia C7 in the coming months. Symbian Anna is the first of a series of exciting updates to the Symbian user experience. When delivering any software update it is important to understand that the software can react differently in different environments. Nokia is committed to ensuring that every user, wherever they are and whatever device they are using, gets the same high quality update experience. We are therefore adopting a three phase approach to implementing the updates, starting with Symbian Anna:
1. Testing and completion of the software for pre-loading onto the first smartphones on which it will be introduced, in this case the Nokia E6 and Nokia X7.
2. Testing and completion of the software to be pre-loaded into future shipments of existing compatible smartphones, in this case future shipments of the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01.
3. Testing and completion of the software for delivery as a download to all existing users of compatible smartphones. For this we are working closely with our operator partners, who will help us to ensure that the software is delivered at the earliest possibility, but also that it is delivered in the right way and that quality is not compromised.

Rest assured, we are eager to ensure that Symbian Anna is delivered to users as quickly as possible, and that the time between each of these phases will be short. We are confident that by taking this approach we can deliver the very best update experience, and we hope you are as excited about Symbian Anna and future updates as we are at Nokia.
